Has been in the educational field for 30+ years and her experience includes teaching, developing and enriching curriculum for Pre-K to 5th grade, a Head Start educator promoting school readiness of children under 5 from low-income families, and English as a Second Language classroom push-in programs. Currently, Linda teaches 2nd grade Science and is the Lower School Virtual/Classroom Learning Support person at an independent school in the Northwest Chicago suburbs.
Ms. Spataro holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University with endorsements including English as a Second Language, Language Arts, and Social Science. She holds her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology from Concordia University.

I’ve had the opportunity of experiencing firsthand the engagement and positivity of the activities from Choose Love in my own classroom and find this program brings tools for calmness, peace and conflict resolution. I’m even more excited to mention that it is a free curriculum because of how crucial social and emotional health is for the well being of our children and honestly, for everyone. It’s more than just an SEL program, it becomes a mantra for a healthier, positive way of thinking.”

Hovious led Chicago’s Cortiva Institute as both Education Director (2007-2008) and Adjunct Faculty Member (2006-2017). Hovious continues to grow in her practice and is pursuing her Masters of Science in Psychology at Indiana Institute of Technology, and has recently authored Our Brain Book, a children’s rhyming book written to support adults and children in the skills of self- and co-regulation.
